About me......

My name is Tracey and I live in Littleborough, just outside of Rochdale. I gave up my full time job to immerse myself into the world of birth and supporting families on thier journey.

I love the outdoors, travel and exploring in my camper and Crochet! My services include antenatal preparation, support during pregnancy, birth and the post natal period.

I am a mum of 2 beautiful daughters born 11 years apart. My eldest daughter has graced me with 4 amazing grandchildren. Of which, I was present at 3 of their births. I also have 3 beautiful step grandchildren.

My passion around birth started some 26 years ago when preparing for my second birth. My best friend was with me and filmed my birth; I suppose she was my Doula. Since then, I have been fascinated with everything around pregnancy and birth.

My personal circumstances will now allow me to immerse myself and share my passion for the beautiful and most natural event in nature; that of birth and everything related.

Doulaing along with Crochet is my lifelong Ikigai......(a Japanese phrase for finding joy in life; life's purpose; finding joy through purpose)

My Doula preparation course with Conscious Birthing gave me the opportunity to reconnect with my maternal instincts and deep passion and desire around birth .

The course was invigorating and stimulating on so many levels; intellectually and emotionally, I found it a deeply moving and life changing moment in my life to realise.....my deep passion for everything birth.

I am honoured to feel the energy that surrounds birth. Supporting birth fits perfectly with my core values around natural approaches to health and wellbeing, nutrition, physical fitness, and emotional wellbeing.

I have 25 years’ work experience with children and their families to bring to my role as a doula. I have a breadth of knowledge and experience of different kinds of families and relationships. I have an awareness and experience of working with people who have suffered trauma in their lives and the impact this can have. I have experience of working with different cultures and religions around issues of mental health, domestic abuse, substance use/addictions, surrogacy, care experienced and adoption.

I will draw on my life experience, training, and resources to build your trust in me. as an establised doula I will walk alongside you with no judgement of the choices and decisions you make – you and your wishes are at the centre of how we will work together. I will support and empower you to follow your instincts and intuition so that you may have a positive birth story.

A very practical mum and grandma always thinking ahead.......organisation is my middle name!

I am happy to support any kind of couple/ family or single parent/ gay/ lesbian /surrogate/ adopters wanting to lactate. I will work with you to incorporate any cultural or religious customs into your journey.

I will meet with you and your partner prior to birth, and we will work together to prepare and plan for how you would like your birth to be. I will ensure you have all the information you need to make informed choices about your birth. We will talk a lot about Oxytocin- the birth hormone and with your permission I will guard this to help your labour progress in the hope to reduce or avoid medical interventions.

As your doula I will provide help and suggestions on comfort measures such as breathing, relaxation, movement, and positioning. I am trained in Rebozo and Acupressure to help keep you comfortable, reduce pressure and discomfort in labour.

I will also support and encourage your partner to be as involved as much as they feel comfortable with.

My aim will be to help you to have a calm and informed birth.
